There are three golf courses nearby, sport fishing on the redoubtable River Suir, hill walking in the Galtee Mountains for all levels of fitness, and racing at Limerick Junction with horses from some of the most famous racing stables in the world. Located on huge limestone outcrop in the plains of Tipperary, the Rock of Cashel was once the site of a fortress built in 500 A.D. and has the remains of a 12th century Gothic cathedral constructed by the kings of Munster. Nearby Cahir Castle and the charming Swiss Cottage are also not to be missed.
There are extensive walks on the property which include the Victorian greenhouse and the Sacred Garden of Meditation or a spin in the boat on the lake. Clay pigeon shooting and archery, are available on site. Watch competition horses and riders from novice to Grand Prix on the full size dressage arena.
